Web3/Crypto Marketing:
Engaging the retail traders and high net worth crypto clients

BitKan is the leading global cryptocurrency brokerage exchange that offers cryptocurrency products and services which are aggregated across multiple partner exchanges such as Binance, OKX, Gate and MEXC.  https://bitkan.com/

Encountering the world of cryptocurrency just before the notorious 2018 bear run, the coins I bought massively devalued thereafter, leading me to deeply research what I was holding. This curiosity led me down a rabbit hole where I delved into whitepapers, participated in forums, and consumed a myriad of resources related to blockchain and cryptocurrency that transformed my initial curiosity into profound knowledge.

Being a crypto native at heart from then on, this foundational knowledge became instrumental in my role at BitKan, allowing me to connect with the crypto community and industry on a deeper level. Hired under the role of an Assistant Marketing Manager, I was excited to leverage my crypto insights to contribute to BitKan's growth.

Social Media and Long-Form Crypto Content Marketing to different crypto communities, and branding improvements

When I joined BitKan, they were on the cusp of expanding into the APAC markets outside of China. They needed someone who could not only manage their social media channels but also elevate their branding and visual presence. The existing branding was lacking, and the visuals were not up to the high standards required to make a significant impact in the competitive social media landscape.

Seeing this as a critical opportunity, I took the initiative to revamp all their social media channels (they operate mostly on Twitter, then Medium, then YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram), and update their visual assets. I developed and executed a comprehensive social media strategy that included content creation, content management and monitoring (with weekly performance reports), and engagement with various coin communities.

By leveraging on fast-changing crypto trends, designing compelling visuals, and writing persuasive copy using Adobe Photoshop and Canva, I was able to generate >6,300,000 organic impressions and ~26% increase in number of followers on BitKan’s X/Twitter within 6 months. Furthermore, I launched the BitKan Hub on Medium, producing in-depth crypto knowledge articles to engage various coin communities. This initiative quadrupled our viewership and increased click-through rates (CTR) by at least 40%.

This strategic dissemination of content significantly increased BitKan's visibility and credibility within the crypto community, positioning us as a trusted and preferred trading platform and resulting in ~65% increase in customer sign-ups.

BitKan's strategy was also focused on attracting high-net-worth traders and clients to use their platform, as the company earned revenue through the volume of coins traded daily.

To support this strategy, I closely collaborated with the head of business development to create white-label decks and brand decks tailored for these clients. These decks showcased the high liquidity of our exchange and highlighted the benefits of trading on our platform.

Additionally, I also engaged with these clients at various crypto events, where I had the opportunity to present BitKan's value proposition directly to them. These efforts not only helped to attract significant traders to our platform but also positioned BitKan as a trusted and sophisticated player in the cryptocurrency market.

Digital Marketing:
Selling health tech products to consumers

When I joined Hydragun, the company was in search of a highly motivated digital marketer and copywriter who could strategize and write for paid social and search marketing. They needed someone who could work closely with the co-founder, Head of Marketing, and other lead marketers to conceptualize and execute marketing strategies and funnels to grow the company’s revenue and reach.

Hired under the role of an Digital Marketer (Paid Social & Search), this role was perfectly aligned with my skills for content production and digital marketing, allowing me to dive deep into the fast-paced world of digital marketing within the e-commerce industry.

Full-Funnel Strategy Development and Creative Execution

At Hydragun, I took on the challenge of developing and executing full-funnel marketing campaigns. This involved strategizing and mapping out comprehensive full-funnel marketing strategies, identifying core target audiences, and selecting primary marketing channels to ensure effective reach and engagement.

I collaborated closely with the creative team to ideate and execute captivating social and search ads. This included writing compelling headlines, descriptions, and captions for image ads, as well as developing scripts for both long and short-form video content. My efforts contributed to generating at least $10,000 in monthly revenue, with ad engagement rates increasing by ~17% and click-through rates (CTR) rising by ~12%.

Content Creation, Management, and Campaign Coordination

Ensuring seamless coordination between ads, launch, and product teams was crucial for any timely and successful campaign launches. One of my significant contributions was leading cross-functional teams, including marketers, creatives, and outreach managers, to achieve critical project milestones and deliverables. This leadership resulted in a ~20% increase in operational efficiency and the elimination of ad-related launch delays.

To accomplish this, I implemented a robust project management system using tools such as Smartsheets, Miro, Google Sheets, and Docs. I created multiple tracking documents and facilitated effective communication through Slack and video calls, which significantly reduced ad-related launch delays. Additionally, I revamped the company's file organization system, greatly accelerating access to essential information and enhancing communication among internal stakeholders.

By streamlining ad project tracking and management processes, I ensured that our marketing operations were not only efficient but also highly collaborative. These improvements not only optimized our workflow but also set a new standard for organizational efficiency within the team. This strategic overhaul was instrumental in driving the company's marketing success and setting the stage for continued growth and innovation.

Mashwire is an independent agency known for connecting brands with consumers through strategic insights and creative executions. When I joined Mashwire, the agency was looking for a dynamic marketer who could handle B2C campaigns and accounts servicing for prominent brands mainly in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Healthcare sectors.

The role demanded proficiency in conceptualizing and implementing comprehensive digital marketing campaigns across various channels. Additionally, it required strong skills in stakeholder management to coordinate seamlessly with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring that projects were executed efficiently and effectively from inception to completion.

Hired under the role of a Communications Intern, I was eager to leverage my skills in content strategy and project management to drive brand growth and engagement.

Digital Campaign Strategy and Execution with FMCG Brands

Spearheading the design and implementation of digital campaigns, my role was to assist in researching to meet the unique needs of each client. By leveraging consumer insights, I developed strategies that utilized online media channels such as hashtags, livestreams, and social platforms, as well as offline roadshows and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) PR blind seedings.

These efforts successfully generated over 2,500,000 impressions and significant PR KOL value per campaign, boosting brand visibility and consumer engagement.

I was also responsible for creating and managing social media strategies for five key brands (Yeo’s, H-Two-O, Pink Dolphin, Gaviscon, Nurofen), utilizing tools like Facebook Ads Manager and suggesting headlines, taglines, and caption copies. This initiative led to a remarkable increase in online engagement, with page impressions growing fourfold and post engagement tripling from previous metrics.

Stakeholder Management

Managing communications and expectations across diverse teams was a vital part of my role in Mashwire. This included collaboration with the creative and marketing departments, account management, vendor coordination, and client engagement.

I played a crucial role in ensuring close collaboration with the creative and marketing departments to ensure that campaign concepts from clients were aligned with overall brand strategies. In addition, I managed account relationships, maintaining regular communication with clients to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction with our services.

Because of this, I significantly improved client retention rates and enhanced the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our project execution, ultimately leading to a notable increase in client satisfaction and repeat business.
